Cautions for operation of high-speed roller feeder

Apr. 03, 2020

High-speed roller feeder is a kind of feeding equipment with high cost-effective, energy-saving, high efficiency and low failure rate, which is commonly used in stamping industry. Therefore, it has become the preferred feeder for many customers. However, in actual use, the high-speed roller feeder often has some matters needing attention that are ignored by operators, resulting in many problems, such as inaccurate feeding, punch wrong punching, die damage and so on. Next, the professional technicians of Lihao Machinery will explain six points for attention in the use of high-speed roller feeder.

1. The actual maximum material width of the high-speed roller feeder is not the specifications indicated on the model, but should be subtracted from the actual specifications by 10 mm. The reason is that the width of the two sides of the stopper wheel must be reserved for the high-speed roller feeder in order to avoid material bias. When the actual material is used to the specified width, there will be unstable feeding distance and inaccurate precision, which will affect the actual stamping production.

2. After the punch replaces the matched die, the feeding height of the roller feeder should be adjusted accordingly to ensure that it is at the same level as the material line height of the matching mold.Different stamping products need to be matched with different dies, and the height of the die line varies greatly with different dies. Therefore, the first step after changing dies is to adjust the height of the roller feeder accordingly, so as to ensure that the phenomenon of arch and deflection does not occur during feeding.

Adjustment methods:

① Adjustment method when the die line is not different: Two M14 screws fixed on the installation board of the roller feeder are loosened and rotated to adjust the screw. After adjusting to the required height, the screw can be locked.

② Adjustment method when the die line is very different: If the die line is very different, the length of the connecting rod of the roller feeder should be adjusted. Firstly, the connecting rod and the installation plate should be removed in turn. After fixing the suitable height of the roller, please adjust according to method 1, and finally adjust the roller connecting rod, then install the roller in turn.

3. The feeding length of high-speed roller feeder during continuous stamping should be slightly larger than that of inch-moving die test.If you want the feeder to send the distance accurately, the one step that can't be ignored is to perform the inching test before the continuous punching. The roller feeder also needs to go through this step. However, it is necessary to pay special attention to the fact that the feed length will be long due to the inertia of the brakes. When the actual continuous production, there is no brake inertia, the feed length will be shorter, so the adjusted length of the roller feeder should be slightly longer than the inching test.

4. When the stamping process changes, the position of rocker arm and tie rod needs to be adjusted after adjusting the feeding length of roller feeder. When the feeding length of the roller feeder is not changed much, only the position of the rocker arm needs to be adjusted. If the change is great, not only the position of the rocker arm needs to be adjusted, but also the pull rod needs to be rotated to ensure that the angle between the rocker arm and the pull rod is 90 degrees at the dead point of the punch. Only in this way can the rocker arm or transmission shaft be avoided from breaking in use.

5. In the use of high-speed roller feeder, if there are some problems such as feeding inaccuracy, feeding bias, loosening inaccuracy, it is necessary to stop the machine immediately for maintenance, find out the problems, and completely eradicate them before resuming production. However, it should be noted that when the machine needs to be shut down, it should be in the order of first stopping the punch and then stopping the leveller. Avoid inadequate feeding caused by premature shutdown of leveler, make the punch press punch by mistake and damage the die.
